Job Summary of the Credit Clerk position
Integr8staff seeks a Credit and Collection Clerk near Santa Fe Springs, CA.
Responsibilities of the Credit Clerk position
Review daily cash deposits (lockbox account, mail and walk-in) against all pending credit holds along with reporting such as unapplied cash and exception reports
Assist accounting department for all A/R postings such as questions, discrepancies, etc.
Process credit applications for new and existing accounts.
Call trade references to obtain credit information for credit limit decisions.
Complete credit reference requests.
Make daily collection calls, based on file reviews, as required.
Escalate customer issues such as short pays, disputed invoice issues, claims, delinquent accounts, bad checks, etc.
Review delinquent accounts considered to be uncollectible and escalate as appropriate to ensure maximum collection efforts are taken.
Assist with month end A/R adjustments.
File credit reports, credit applications, etc. and maintain customer files, ensuring appropriate reviews are performed in accordance with credit policy.
Update customer files, including name, address changes, mergers, or mailing attentions.
Assist with preparation of documents/records for review, duplication, and distribution.
Support research of discrepancies and/or supporting documentation as appropriate
Requirements of the Credit Clerk position
2 years of relevant credit/collections work experience or any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skill.
High School diploma/GED required; Bachelor degree preferred.
Experience in credit, Accounts Receivable (AR) and collections in a commercial B2B environment, including cash application preferred.
Knowledge of administrative and clerical work such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures.
Strong communication; articulate, grammar required.
Knowledge of arithmetic/ math required.
Able to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations) required.
Operating 10-key calculators and/or office equipment.
Strong computer proficiency and of Microsoft tools (especially Microsoft Excel, Word) required.
Efficient, well organized, dependable and detail oriented.
