Salary – $30 - $31/hr
Job Summary of the of the Senior Buyer position
Integr8staff seeks a Senior Buyer to be responsible for buying material for resale to consumers at the wholesale or retail level by analyzing past buying trends, sales records, price and quality of material to determine value and yield.
Responsibilities of the of the Senior Buyer position
Negotiates prices, discount terms and transportation arrangements for material
Manages the inventory levels of the products they buy
Confers with sales personnel to obtain information about customer needs and preferences
Examines, selects, orders, and purchases at the most favorable price material consistent with quality, quantity and specification requirements
Runs and reviews various reports to determine if on hand inventory is in sufficient quantity to support sales
Enters in purchase orders in a timely manner and expedites open orders as needed.
Maintains purchase order packets
Provides current landed cost information to sales as requested
Works with supplier order status reports and acknowledgments for accurate information reflected
Evaluates supplier performance as required
Maintains accurate usage information
Qualifies new suppliers
Handles mill claims
Handles purchase cost adjustments and inventory adjustments
Provides various reports upon request
Assists Purchasing Manager and other department personnel as needed
Inspect and document damaged or non-conforming material
Communicates any issues to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner
Responsible for assisting in the training of new personnel
Files purchasing packets in a timely manner
Requirements of the of the Senior Buyer position
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
Strong computer and software skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel.
Ability to speak effectively to vendors and co-workers in order to conduct business
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Strong communications skills including the spelling, rules of composition, and grammar
Ability to apply common sense and carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form
Ability to interpret documents such as contracts, purchase orders, specifications and other forms.
Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
