Integr8staff seeks an experienced Intellectual Property (IP) Specialist to join an established, high-performing with an award-winning, world-class, international legal firm.
Responsibilities of the Intellectual Property (IP) Specialist position The IP Specialist will be primarily responsible for providing assistance to the Director of IP Administration in support of the entire IP practice group. Assists with preparing procedural documentation and handles overflow projects across the practice group. Provide administrative, project management, and analytic support for the IP practice group which includes data analysis and generating detailed reports from IP database applications Assist in developing and maintaining procedural documentation, including IP training manuals. Facilitate training of IP staff, including new hire orientation. Support the team with overflow projects within the IP practice group, including, but is not limited to, large file transfers. Occasional back-up paralegal coverage requiring strong prosecution experience in preparing and filing US, PCT, and foreign patent applications and official correspondence. Official correspondence includes, but is not limited to, application data sheets, declarations, power of attorneys, assignments, IDSs, replies, amendments, issue fee payments, 92bis, extensions, change of address, etc. Serve as primary liaison for IP database management and maintenance. Perform additional responsibilities as requested.
Requirements of the Intellectual Property (IP) Specialist position Law firm experience and IP docketing knowledge Minimum 5+ years’ experience in U.S. and Foreign IP patent prosecution Advanced skills in MS Excel are essential. Word, and PowerPoint is also required. Experience with MS Access, MS Project and/or building macros is a plus. Experience working with CPI, FoundationIP, IPDAS and First-to-File software is a plus. Prior patent and trademark prosecution docketing is a plus. After hours and weekend work will be required on occasion as the workload requires. Occasional travel may be required.
