Job Summary of the of the Leave of Absence Specialist position
Integr8staff seeks a skilled and solution-focused Leave of Absence Specialist to join our client, a nationally-recognized professional services company headquartered in Los Angeles, CA.

Responsibilities of the Leave of Absence Specialist position
Leave Administration:

Serves as primary point of contact and communication with employees and management for all leaves of absence and related processes.
Prepare and ensure compliance with federal, state and local leave of absence laws of multi-state disability and family leave applications and responses, (e.g. FMLA, CFRA, USERRA, STD, SDI, CAPFL, NYPFL, SFPPL, etc).   
Counsels employees regarding pay (i.e., supplemental pay, STD, LTD, etc.) benefits, rights, responsibilities and other issues when being placed on or returning from a leave of absence.
Reviews medical documentation of those returning from leave of absence and provides guidance to management on a return-to-work strategy.
Maintenance of data, forms, informational materials, FAQs and LOA policies.
Keeps accurate records of leaves to ensure company stays in legal compliance.
Stays up-to-date with changes in leave of absence and related laws
HR Administration:
Assists managers and Office Administrators in coaching, counseling and resolution of employee work and welfare concerns and issues.
Assists in administration of all HR policies and procedures.
Workers’ Compensation:
Administration of firm wide workers’ compensation program; including documentation, reporting, monitoring and follow-up.
 
Requirements of the Leave of Absence Specialist position
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of broad HR experience.
2+ years handling multi-state leave administration, including ADA, STD, and state programs.
Familiarity with COVID-19 related leave requirements.
Must be able to work in fast paced environment, with changing priorities and deadlines.
Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Attention to detail and follow-up.
Ability to take charge or work collaboratively as part of a team.
Skilled in HR technologies and Microsoft Office Suite.
