Job Summary of the Maintenance Mechanic position
A global manufacturing company seeks a Maintenance Technician for 1st shift.
Responsibilities of the Maintenance Mechanic position
Leads the installation and maintenance of production equipment.
Oversees and performs A-level mechanic duties.
Performs electrical and/or mechanical troubleshooting and repairs in response to equipment errors or failures.
Assists Maintenance Mechanics in maintaining, moving, leveling, cleaning, and painting production machinery, as needed.
Installs builds, rebuilds and maintains production equipment for full performance and in a safe, efficient and cost-saving manner.
Performs scheduled preventive maintenance and equipment audits.
Performs basic machine care, maintenance and housekeeping including HVAC, plumbing.
Makes recommendations on repair strategy and priority.
Leads and/or assists with local Engineering upgrades and projects.
Performs preventive/corrective maintenance on equipment and facility.
Resolves maintenance issues to consistently obtain the standard operating efficiency of the system and minimize safety, quality, and downtime risks.
Checks oil, coolant, cutting oil, acetone, kerosene, batteries, fan motors, and air filters on machines and replaces or refills as required.
Checks fluorescent lights, air conditioning evaporators and condenser and replaces as required.
Cleans fans, fan covers, air filters, vacuum system, oil pans, and radiators.
Greases and lubricates machines.
Maintains records of repairs, calibrations, tests, and standard setting processes.
Communicates equipment problems that are beyond their abilities to the support group.
Requirements of the Maintenance Mechanic position
High School Diploma or GED equivalent (required)
Mechanical and/or electronic certification or courses (preferred)
3 or more years’ experience or equivalent education.
Skilled with low voltage electrical, electronics, machine rebuilding tools, HVAC, refrigeration, pneumatic systems, diagnosing and repairing industrial equipment, preventative maintenance and more.
Experience testing the equipment and analyze malfunctions to correct the problem.
Able to conduct rebuilds on equipment.
Strong trouble shooting analysis skills required.
Proven experience with saws, drills, cutters, grinders, screwdrivers, welders, and other fabrication equipment as needed.
Strong understanding of equipment blueprint, diagrams, schematics, drawings and more
Must have strong analytical skills, strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong mechanical reasoning skills.
Experience using Windows based PC applications preferred.
Forklift Certified Preferred
Must Pass a Drug Test, background check, and DMV record.
