Dispatcher (evening shift)

Company Location – Near Lawndale, CA
100% On-site, Full Time, Contract -to-hire
Pay – 26-29/hr, DOE.
Status - Non-Exempt role
Work Schedule- 2nd Shift (4pm-1am)
Responsibilities of the Airline Cargo Dispatcher position
Maintain knowledge of drivers’ schedules, and arrival times
Ensure drivers have the necessary equipment and clear instructions for their tasks.
Check on drivers hourly to keep them on task.
Maintain driver’s hours within 8-10 hours whenever possible.
Know the equipment always assigned to drivers.
Manage equipment swaps during shift changes, coordinating with management.
Assign loads to drivers and ensure they acknowledge them.
Ensure drivers use the system correctly for order management.
Have all paperwork printed and ready for dispatch.
Track the status of every MAWB on the board. (Airport Transfers)
Add necessary charges to the dry run and waiting time columns.
Keep customers updated on waiting times and delays.
Ensure all emails are answered within 15-30 minutes and flagged if necessary for another dispatcher.
Answer emails and phone calls professionally.
Ensure drivers turn in PODs promptly and escalate issues to management.
Review all PODs for completeness and discrepancies.
Requirements of the Airline Cargo Dispatcher position
2+ years of experience in an Airline Cargo Dispatcher role or similar.
High School diploma/GED preferred.
Microsoft Outlook; Word, Excel and other software tools
Great Communication, team player, works well under pressure.
Basic computer proficiency and working knowledge of software applications required.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively required.
Ability to make sound decisions based on a combination of factors including knowledge, experience, and judgment required.
Must be reliable, strong attendance and punctuality
Possess good time management skills
