On-site, Full Time, Direct Hire 
Pay – $36/hr.

Job Summary of the Certified Payroll Specialist position
Integr8staff seeks an experienced Certified Payroll Specialist with preferred construction experience for a highly-regarded and continually growing organization.

Responsibilities of the Certified Payroll Specialist position
Assist with processing manual timecards and distribution of payroll checks weekly.

Cross train and serve as a support for the time & attendance review export process.
Assist in the reconciliation of gross/hours between systems.
Calculate piece hours, tax withholdings, deductions, regular rate of pay, final check, etc.
Verify timekeeping records and consult with supervisor/employees about discrepancies.
Prints checks and administer ACH transactions for California entities
Creates weekly reports pertaining to payroll and labor management
Back up for processing incoming verification of employment request
Assist in manning the payroll inbox
Process off-cycle payrolls for correction checks, final checks and other payments.
Responsible for responding to subpoena request
Verify new hire status update forms including dual verification.
Process verification of employment, W4s, direct deposit changes
Research, resolve inquiries related to payroll, time & attendance and compliance.
Responsible for fulfilling compliance audit requests, the DIR and compliance agencies.
Act as lead for certified payroll reporting for various projects simultaneously.
Compliance Contracts review and form completion.
Review checklist for job set ups and provide sign off confirming of dual review
Back up to compliance manager with processing monthly union reports for apprentices
Updating of prevailing wage compliance log with current job updates
Provide excellent customer service to internal and external contacts.
Performs all duties with a high degree of accuracy
Responsible for overseeing sensitive information in a confidential manner
Other duties as assigned

Requirements of the Certified Payroll Specialist position
At least a 2-year college, technical school

2 + years of related payroll work experience and/or training, or the equivalent combination of education.
3+ years Construction payroll experience preferred
3+ years of prevailing wage construction payroll experience required.
Knowledge of Section 3 and Apprentice Ration Requirements preferred.
Certified Payroll / Union Reporting experience required.
Multistate payroll experience preferred
Ability to speak, read, and write Spanish preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Demonstrates flexibility to effectively deal with changing priorities and timelines
Exceptional analytical problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of State and Federal laws related to payroll.
Knowledge of Sage Software and NOVAtime electronic timekeeping system preferred.
Ability to organize tasks according to departmental priorities.
Successfully work in a fast-paced environment at times with frequent interruptions.
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Self-motivated and follows direction of supervisors, but also able to work without constant direct supervision
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex content and documents
