Job Summary of the Leave of Absence Administrator position
Integr8staff seeks a subject matter expert Leave of Absence Administrator to assist with the administration of the Company’s leave of absence and return to work/accommodation programs.
The LOA Administrator will ensure compliance with federal, state & local leave of absence laws (e.g., FMLA, CFRA, USERRA, etc.)
Responsibilities of the Leave of Absence Administrator position
Provides end to end leave of absence support for assigned regional offices.
Obtains and reviews updated medical certifications to determine eligibility;
Provides recommendation on granting or denying leaves based on facts and documentation.
Serves as the primary point of contact and communications with employees, management and for all leaves of absence and related processes and escalates as needed
Ensures proper integration of leaves; Workers’ Compensation with FMLA, FMLA with CFRA, etc.
Counsels employees regarding pay (i.e., supplemental pay, STD, LTD, etc.), benefits, rights, responsibilities and other issues when being placed on or returning from a leave of absence
Reviews medical documentation of those returning from leave of absence and provides guidance to management on a return-to-work strategy.
Coordinates accommodations for those returning to work with restrictions.
Reviews requests for ADA accommodation and leads process to determine what accommodations may be needed.
Maintains accurate records of leaves to ensure company remains in full legal compliance.
Stays up-to-date with changes in leave of absence and related laws
Requirements of the Leave of Absence Administrator position
High School Diploma/GED required
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or related field preferred
HR Certifications; PHR, SHRM-CP preferred
Min. of 2 years’ experience with leaves of absence, preferably in a multi-site, multi-state company
Prior experience in a union environment preferred
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
In-depth knowledge of federal, state and local leave laws; FMLA, CFRA, PDL, ADA, etc.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Proficiency with HRIS, payroll & timekeeping systems; Ceridian, Dayforce & Kronos preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to use discretion and handle sensitive/confidential information appropriately
Strong organizational skills and attention to details
