Job Summary of the Accountant/ Bookkeeper position
Fast-paced marketing firm in the Greater Los Angeles, CA area is looking for an Accountant/ Bookkeeper reporting to and working with the executive team. The Accountant/ Bookkeeper will be responsible for general ledger management, account and bank reconciliations, as well as assisting with month/quarter/year-end close, P&L reporting, and other accounting related tasks. Responsibilities of the Accountant/ Bookkeeper position
Conduct account analysis, handle A/P functions (analyzing billing, reviewing payments and sales reporting), expense analysis, and assisting with financial analysis and modeling.
Prepare month-end closing schedules, journal adjusting entries.
Research and resolve all quarterly and annual tax reporting.
Ensure data in the financial system is clean and reliable.
Analyze accounts on a periodic basis, monitor trends, and flag anomalies.
Manage advertising vendor payments terms and agreements.
Validate data coming from the executive team and accounting reporting systems.
Support daily business operations, budget forecasting, variance analysis and resolve discrepancies.
Lead the weekly A/P and A/R process and present improvement recommendations.
Improving efficiencies to the end-to-end accounting process by transforming workflows to digital.
Partner with the executive team and external financial advisor in gathering data needed for deep-dive analysis and financial modeling needs.
Be a key contributor with process and financial optimization initiatives.
 
Requirements of the Accountant Bookkeeper position
BA/BS in Finance or Accounting, CPA a plus
At least 3 years related work experience
Experience working in marketing, media, or digital advertising company a plus
Strong Excel and computer literacy skills
Must be hands-on and comfortable with building new processes from scratch
Able to stay organized, on task and creatively problem solve in a professional manner
Finance and Accounting process optimization experience required
QuickBooks experience a huge plus
